5. In a hearty acceptance that Jesus is Lord of our lives when we receive Him as our Savior. Rom 10:9,10 Col 2:6 Joh 3:3
6. That Jesus, our ascended Lord, has provided for and commanded in Scripture that every believer, after his conversion, be filled or baptized with the Holy Spirit. This sanctifying truth is both a crisis and continuing process in the life of a child of God. Act 9:17; Eph 5:18
7. That Jesus Christ has made a provision for our physical sicknesses (Isa 53:4,5; Mat 8:16-17) and that anointing with oil by the Elders for healing is both Biblical and for the Church today. Jam 5:14-16
8. In the personal, visible and bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth. Act 1:10,11; lTh4:14-18
9. In the gifts of the Spirit as found in Rom 12:3-8; Eph 4:11,12; I Cor 12-14; I Pet 4:10,11. These gifts are sovereignly bestowed by God. Each Spirit-filled Christian receives at least one gift for enablement and ministry. All the gifts are for
today, though no one gift is the initial or required evidence of being baptized or filled with the Spirit. In some form of water baptism as a Scriptural Ordinance with agreement to immersion and sprinkling being the forms practiced at BPUMC.
10. In the Lord’s Supper as the other Scriptural Ordinance.
